Welcome to day 1 of this blog! I'm very excited to see what the Lord will do and how he will speak to us over the next 40 days. Please feel free to post a comment or share this site with others :)
It isn't so important what we do for God as our relationship with Him. Jesus shares this with the disciples in Luke 10:20, "However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven." He is saying it is more valuable to be saved and in the Kingdom than to be doing something for Him (even casting out demons!). A woman minister once told me that I was too concerned about pursing my destiny instead of my relationship with Jesus. I was offended at her remark, but now I know she was correct...before we can fully enter into the ministry God calls us to, we must be in the right relationship with Him.
In Psalm 51:17, David says, "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart O God, you will not despise." David prayed this after his affair with Bathsheba. The Lord is always ready to forgive when we come to Him with a humble heart. Your brokenness may not be a sin issue, but rather something that you need to surrender to God such as fear, bitterness or control.
Just as a racehorse needs to be broken before he can become a champion, we must be broken before we can serve Him as well as others. I caution you to check your motives, are you doing ministry for yourself or for Him? If you are feeling out of touch with God and need fresh vision - seek Him on this and I promise you He will not disappoint you - He meets you in the midst of your pain. Before there can be revelation, there must be a time of repentance and brokenness. New revelation requires a deeper level of surrender to God. Allow Him to bring you through brokenness, because on the other side is your destiny.
